It is a time of upheaval, after one of the deadliest wars in human history tore through multiple worlds, leaving billions of people dead in it’s wake. Because of this, the the races within it are rebuilding much of what was destroyed. However, even though the fans of war have died down, there is always the lingering threat of destruction that lurks in the shadows of the universe…

The Children of War is a futuristic science fiction setting that places the emphasis on action and role-playing. The setting is very brutal, dark and filled with many places to explore and many enemies and NPC’s to encounter. The setting is similar to a space opera like “Mass Effect” with the Intensity of combat from “Gears of War”, “Killzone” or “Modern Warfare”. Many powerful nations, corporations and organizations are everywhere in the universe, always allowing the chance for conflict to spring up and a chance to earn credits and new technology. The players assume to role of one of four races, three archetypes and nine classes.

Children of War uses the Pathfinder RPG 3.5 rule set. The setting uses a very thorough player customization of feats, skills and class abilities. Some feats, skills and class abilities have been changed to suit a futuristic setting and some of the classes have been taken out, sue to the science fiction genre. Many different Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 rule books have been used to help create this project. Also, a new class system of Archetypes and Class Specializations have replaced the old system of just picking classes and multi-classing.
